Liberty Park is a 3600+ acre mixed-use development located in the City of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Schoel Engineering has provided essentially all of the Engineering services for the project since its inception in 1990. The Liberty Park master plan contains approximately 2300 residential lots, a 100-acre office park called the Urban Center at Liberty Park, which contains approximately 1.5 million sq-ft of office space in multiple buildings, a championship 18 hole golf course, The Colonial Grande at Liberty Park apartments, a sports and recreation park, an elementary school, a junior high school, and multiple lakes, green spaces, and walking areas. The wastewater treatment system is a model for serving the needs of a large development including pump stations, force mains, gravity sewers, wastewater treatment plant, effluent spray fields, and reuse of effluent for irrigation.
