The Barber Motorsports Park is a world class racing facility located in Birmingham, Alabama. During construction of the facility, Schoel was called in to assist in preventing sediment from leaving the site and eventually getting into the Cahaba River. Schoel designed and oversaw the implementation of an innovative pumping and filtration system that dispersed the turbid water using a spray field and filtered it using the natural ground and combinations of erosion control fabrics and agents. This approach resulted in meeting the requirements of ADEM for sediment removal and turbidity.
